Walkathon (via co-ophistorian)
a free service for people taking part in the ‘Walkathon’ in 1989- people were sponsored to walk around the 25 miles of the outer circle bus route (11A/11C) or at least part of it (it was divided into stages where you got your sponsorship form stamped)- buses were laid on to take weary walkers home when they had finished. The young lads are giving out free drinks donated by the local cornershop.
