“The first Reggae City event, will present some of the finest International Roots, Reggae and Dub artists alongside the cream of Britain’s contemporary talent. The event will also explore the huge influence that Reggae has had on today’s dance and club music scene. Expect the best of today’s reggae inspired Jungle, Dubstep, Dub and Hip-Hop. Across three venues, upon heavy weight sounds and with peace and harmony in mind Birmingham is set to lively up itself! On Saturday, June 11th the first “Reggae City” event will run conscious vibes, bring ital foods and a festival feeling to the Rainbow Warehouse complex.” — Reggae City - Birmingham’s newest and biggest Reggae Festival

Praise the Sabbath: now Birmingham shows its metal - Features, Music - The Independent -

“Every day tens of thousands of commuters hurry past a telling statue in Birmingham’s main square. Antony Gormley’s Iron: Man – a sort of wonky prototype for The Angel of The North – perfectly expresses the culture of Brum. The city, like its under-appreciated icon, is off-kilter. It was this intangible sense of the other, of being different despite being the bullseye of Britain, that meant Birmingham could give birth to strange new sounds and trends.”
